A holiday by the water

Hotel Les Vieux Acacias is ideally located between the Atlantic Ocean, the Gironde estuary, and Lake Hourtin. You can enjoy a variety of water sports, as well as sunbathing and relaxing on our beautiful beaches. On Lake Hourtin, one of the largest lakes in France, discover Île aux Enfants (Children's Island), a place where everyone can have fun thanks to the playground, the castle, and the inflatable water games in the summer.

The wine routes

Our charming hotel in Queyrac is located in the heart of the Médoc wine region. This region is known for its "thousand and one châteaux." While châteaux refer to wines and wine estates, some are also actual castles to explore. During your getaway along one of the many wine routes, you'll pass by some of the most famous, such as Château Lascombes, Château Saint-Estèphe, and Château Lafite Rothschild, but especially several châteaux in Queyrac, including Château Carménère and Château Saint-Hilaire. Also, discover one of the most beautiful wine cellars with sound and light shows at Uni-Médoc in Gaillan-en-Médoc.

Cordouan Lighthouse

In half an hour's drive, you can be at the Port du Verdon and reach the Cordouan Lighthouse. This lighthouse is one of a kind and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since 1611, the Cordouan Lighthouse has watched over sailors and the Gironde estuary. Since that time, the Cordouan Lighthouse has been inhabited and maintained by guards, all year round. From the Atlantic Coast, you can reach the Cordouan Lighthouse for a guided tour of this exceptional place.

Montalivet

The town of Montalivet is a pleasant seaside resort where you'll enjoy water sports or relaxing on the large, fine sandy beaches, swimming and unwinding. From Montalivet, you can also set off on charming hikes or bike rides. The town is also known for its large pine forest, perfect for walks and picnics. Its summer market awaits you every morning from June to September.

Soulac-sur-Mer

The town of Soulac-sur-Mer is about a 20-minute drive from our hotel. You can enjoy the large beaches for walks or leisurely strolls, or you can take a pleasant family tour of the villas of Soulac. We recommend discovering the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Fin des Terres in the old village, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Atlantic Wall, the memorial at the North Médoc fortress, the Statue of Liberty, and much more.
